Welcome!

If you are looking to find out a little more about Rolfing® Structural Integration, you've come to the right place.

Rolfing: Structural Integration is a type of bodywork that includes soft-tissue manipulation and movement education. It is done in a series of sessions that were designed by Dr. Ida P. Rolf as a hands-on way to balance the body's structure and posture so your body is working more efficiently and easily in gravity. As a Rolfer, I will look at the different parts of your structure that have become “stuck” through a life time of injuries, stresses and habitual patterns. All of these injuries, stresses and patterns, over time, will cause us to develop compensation patterns.   When we live with these patterns day to day, we lose our ability to comfortably move and rest.

The Rolfing series usually consists of 10 sessions. Each session has a different territory and goal and they build on each other as the series moves along.  A typical session will start with a visual assessment of what is going on in your body. This will include walking and other movements while your Rolfer watches and assesses where they see different strains and tension patterns in your body.  The assessment will always include your input.  We will then begin the hands on work. You will be on a table while your Rolfer performs a number of soft-tissue manipulations with your participation. The session will end with some integration work and some post session assessments to see what we were able to accomplish during that session.

Things Rolfing can help you with:

Better Posture

Help with chronic pain

Support the healing of injuries

Enhanced Athletic performance

Overall well-being
